Solar Sisters: Making Strides 2025

This past Fall, Iron Galaxy Studios made literal strides against breast cancer. As part of our company values, we have an ongoing mission to contribute to the communities where we live and work. In October, we gathered in Nashville, Chicago, and Orlando to participate in fundraising walks hosted by the American Cancer Society.

Pink Day was a fun way to kick off the month of “Pinktober” and help raise awareness in our studios. While preparations for spooky season were underway, these pink warriors stood out during their team meetings to show their support! We took this design and put our feet to the ground in Nashville, then Chicago, and finally Orlando.

The trend was led by the Solar Sisters, our employee resource group that fosters gender equality and leadership in the games industry. They worked together to craft the group shirt that our people would wear during each fundraising walk. They brought us all together to help make a difference in the real world outside the games we make.
Here are a few thoughts from members of each studio.

Sophia Viner: We had a great time at Making Strides in Nashville! The weather was perfect—blue skies and a high of 70—making the 3-mile walk around downtown refreshing and enjoyable. It was also awesome to see the turnout for this Saturday morning event. We got to join so many teams in celebrating the incredible work we did raising funds benefiting breast cancer programs and research. The energy was definitely high! We wrapped up the morning with a team breakfast at a local diner. This walk is a great way to show your support, and we’re excited to keep up the annual tradition!

Marina Suarez: Chicago's walk was a blast! The walk felt very short, and the view from the lakefront and other iconic downtown landmarks was stunning. It was very moving to see how many people joined the cause in Chicago this year! This was my second consecutive year participating. It is amazing to see how the support keeps growing in our local community. Just a little effort helps family members and friends immensely, when going through difficult times. I highly encourage everyone to consider joining us or contributing next year!

Erica Fernandez: This cause has a lot of special meaning to me. Pinktober is a painful reminder of what I’ve lost but is also a chance to celebrate with all the amazing people that have helped support me. We had some new and old faces from last year, and had a few friends and family come join in on the fun! The Orlando walk surprised all of us with tons of live music and shows. Everyone there was kind and supportive of one another. There were thousands of people walking, but somehow our matching outfits helped us all stay together!
Anna Heart: This was the first year I walked with the crew and I had a great time. What a great way to start the day and come together as a community. We're happy you kicked the !@#$%&* out of cancer, Erica!
True that, Anna. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is an initiative IG plans to support annually. While our 2025 walks may be a wrap, you can count on us to support meaningful movements year-round that are significant to IG employees.
