Rejess Marshall Joins Iron Galaxy Studios as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program Lead

Appointment Conveys Studio’s Commitment To Hiring & Elevating Diverse Staff Ahead of Launch of New Multiplayer Melee Combat IP For Consoles & PC

CHICAGO, IL (June 29, 2021) – Today, we are excited to announce that DEI expert Rejess Marshall has joined the company as DEI & Access Program Manager at Iron Galaxy Studios.

In an ongoing effort to create and sustain inclusive teams, Rejess will help continue to drive and implement creative, sustainable, and innovative programs that support our company’s overall strategic DEI efforts during the development and launch of an original multiplayer melee combat IP for consoles and PC. Her first steps in her new position will be getting acquainted with her teammates and developing a greater understanding for how Iron Galaxy can improve its approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“Our leadership team is incredibly focused on hiring diverse staff and creating an environment at Iron Galaxy where everyone can be their authentic selves so that we attract the best talent in the business,” said Chelsea Blasko, Co-CEO, Iron Galaxy Studios. “We have expanded rapidly to more than 200 members over the past year in preparation for the development of our new IP, and quickly recognized the need for a stand-alone role to ensure we give this important function the attention it deserves. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have someone with Rejess’ pedigree spearheading our efforts.”

Rejess has worked in many DEI capacities, including serving as an Ambassador for the LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group at Progressive. She recently received her MBA from Georgia State University with a focus on Organizational Management and Human Resources in pursuit of a passion for developing holistic workplaces that incorporate diversity. She has been recognized with such industry awards as the Michael Jay Jedel Award in Human Resource Management.

While at Progressive, Rejess also served on the All-ERG advisory board and supported company-wide Diversity Week initiatives. She was a member of the Diversity Curriculum Committee at Georgia State University and has spoken on several panels discussing diversity-related topics, including presenting her research on"Transgender Employees and Title VII" at the Georgia State Equal Employment Office.

“I am so honored to join the team at Iron Galaxy, which has already developed amazing programs including diversity scholarships and donating to causes that impact the community, to help create a DEI policy that will serve as a guide for the larger gaming industry,” said Rejess Marshall. “As a black, queer woman, I understand how intersecting identities can create workplace barriers, preventing upward mobility. By addressing pay inequity, retention of diverse employees, and employee support and exploring potential partnerships and collaborations with technology and gaming social impact organizations, I look forward to continuing to build an environment where everyone truly feels valued.”
