Iron Galaxy at Super Kickballers Ultimate 2025

Earlier this September, as part of a time-honored tradition, Chicago game dev studios put down their controllers to compete with each other offline on the kickball field. The kickball tournament was really more of a front for a fundraising contest. Chicago Loot Drop, a nonprofit organization who shares the love of video games with local hospitals and communities, coordinates an annual day of fun and charity between Iron Galaxy Studios, NetherRealm Studios, Bit Bash, Intel Gaming, Jackbox Games, and more.

Tension scorched the air of that beautiful day. It was unclear who would win in both competitions. In the end, the Free Agents, comprised of various game devs from the Chicagoland area, took home the kickball tournament trophy with a clutch, bases load pop up catch! Iron Galaxy took home the fundraising trophy, thanks to some clutch, unexpected donations while on the field! [Insert pay-to-win joke here.]

It was an exciting event for all, but the real winners were Chicago Loot Drop and the youth they’ll be able to support with good ole video games. Their goal this year was to raise $10,000. They smashed that goal by receiving $14,050 from 150 supporters.
Congrats to Chicago Loot Drop on another successful event. See you again next year!
